Mr. Hentschel is the founder of Broadpoint.Gleacher’s Real Estate Investment Banking Group. Mr. Hentschel joined the firm in July 2009 after a 19-year career in the real estate field, including 10-years as a real estate investment banker at Lehman Brothers until 2006, where he also originated and structured principal investments and most recently nearly 3-years as a real estate investment banker at Wachovia Securities running the New York office. Before joining Lehman Brothers in 1996 Mr. Hentschel worked for 6-years as a banker at Prudential Securities in CMBS and other securitization businesses. During his career Mr. Hentschel has completed over $30 billion of transactions in the office, multifamily, retail, industrial, manufactured home community, self-storage, student housing, timeshare and mortgage REIT sectors. Mr. Hentschel earned an engineering degree from Princeton University.
